You aren’t really good at making
desserts, Yet wish to serve your guests with something you made, then go for
this Simple Dessert. No chances of this one going wrong .
The word ‘Tri’ means three. This
pudding is called so because it consists of three layers of cake, jelly and
custard. This is one of the simplest desserts to make and can actually be
prepared by children as well. Decoration of this is the key and its totally
upto your imagination and creativity. Plenty of scope for that. While there is
no standard format for preparing this pudding , each of you can have your own
version of the same.
INGREDIENTS :
- 1 Plain Vaniila Sponge cake ( 9 inches round). This can be store bought or you can make your own if you wish. I prefer the store bought ones .
- 1 packet of raspberry or strawberry jelly. (No restriction though, You can choose your own flavour). I prefer the bright red jellies.
- Vanilla custard Powder.
- Milk to prepare custard
- Sugar .
- Fruits for decoration .
METHOD :
Follow
the Instructions on the Jelly packet and set the Jelly in the Refrigerator. Follow
the instructions on custard packet and prepare custard. It should be of a thick
but pourable and flowing consistency. Keep it for cooling in the Refrigerator.
Take care that no lumps are formed in the custard.
Cut
1 cm thin slices of the Sponge cake.
Chop
the fruits as you wish for decoration.
ASSEMBLING THE
TRIFLE PUDDING :
1. This has to be done once the jelly has set and
the custard has cooled completely.
2. Take a bowl or container in which to assemble
the pudding .
3. Line the cake slices along the walls of the
bowl. Break a few slices of the cake with your hand and spread the crumble on
the floor or base of the bowl.
4. Over this bed of cake crumble , Turn the jelly
upside down, Or you can also cut the jelly into pieces and pour on the cake .
5. Over the cake and Jelly pour the cooled down
custard so as to completely cover it.
6. Decorate with fruits and store in Refrigerator.
7. Serve chilled .
8. You can also use whipped cream, sprinkles,
fondant whatever you fancy for decoration.
