'Misal-Pav' , the name itself is enough to get true-blue Spice lovers drooling. Spicy moth bean gravy served along with bread is a popular one dish meal that can be had at any time of the day. Popular street food Misal-Pav is the spicy gravy served with Farsan , onions, tomatoes and bread . It is a favourite amongst the people of Maharashtra . Absolutely lip-smacking and delicious , it is known for its high spice quotient. Is accompanied by an additional watery and extra spicy gravy called as the 'KAT' Presenting here my style of preparing the dish. Hope you all like it.
INGREDIENTS :
FOR THE WATERY GRAVY OR 'KAT' :
Oil 2 Tbsp
Ginger garlic paste 2 tsp
1 Onion finely chopped
1 tomato finely chopped
coriander leaves finely chopped
Few curry leaves
sugar 1/2 tsp
Kolhapuri Misal Masala (Various brands available in the market) 2-3 Tbsp
Red chilly powder 1 tsp
salt to taste.

TO PREPARE THE KAT :
1. Heat oil in a wok.
2. Add the ginger garlic paste, saute a little
3. Add chopped onions and tomatoes and stir for a min or two.
4. Add the curry leaves.
5. Now add red chilly powder, sugar and Kolhapuri misal masala. Stir till Oil separates.
6. Add salt to taste.
7. Add around 200 ml of water (More if you want more watery)
8. Bring to a boil. Garnish with coriander.
9. KAT is ready to be served with Misal.

2 Med sized onions finely chopped .
2 Tomatoes finely chopped
coriander finely chopped
Farsan (Easily available in market) 200 gms
Few slices of lemon
Bread (Either buns / ladi pav or slices whatever you prefer)
Barik shev (For garnishing if you wish)
SERVING THE MISAL
1. Mix all the ingredients just before serving , else the Farsan will turn soggy.
2. In a Bowl take some farsan.
3. To this add the chopped onions and tomatoes.
4. To this add 1/2 bowl of the Matki usal
5. Garnish with some barik shev and coriander .
6. Serve with Bread, slice of lemon and Kat (in a separate Bowl).
